Meet author Myron Edwards!

Look to Myron Edward’s Cyprus Mysteries trilogy for some exciting adventure imbued with fantasy, starting with Mistress of the Rock. Read below for more about this author!

1. Tell me about your main character Richard Cole. What drives him?

Richard Cole when we first meet him is a soldier in the British Army who has never
experienced conflict, when he does two things happen, first, he is stunned and shocked
by what he sees and experiences and this brings on his PTSD, this is further enhanced
by the visions he has which haunt him throughout his life. As a family man, he tries his
best to overcome this situation, but from time to time these visions return and he finds
himself fighting to maintain normality. As the years pass his PTSD becomes controlled,
he builds a small electrical business and watches his two kids grow to become
successful adults. His wife Julie has been beside him from the beginning throughout
Richard’s ordeals. Richard has made a good life for himself and his family but at the
back of his mind there is something that he feels he is missing out on something that he
feels he has to do, it is only when he returns to Cyprus which was the starting point of
his war that it all fits into place,

2. Where did the inspiration for Mistress of the Rock come from?

Call, it fate, kismet, or destiny, but the idea came from a visit to the birthplace of the
goddess Aphrodite in Cyprus. Where to put it in perspective I had an epiphany moment,
What I saw was an image on a poster of a woman in the sea at the very same place
where the legend says she came from the foam “Aphro means from the foam. It
triggered the whole concept of the story and how that legend could be brought to life,
this was the catalyst that spurred me to write the screenplay before turning it into a book
for publishing.

3..What did you find most rewarding in writing MOTR? The most rewarding?

Unfortunately, I am restricted in that I can’t hold exhibitions or book signings as I live on
the other side of the world from my publisher, and getting books to me is practically
impossible, I have to rely on web-based promotions and opportunities such as this for
people to know about my books. But for those who have read the books the reward has
been in the wonderful comments and appreciation of the stories and how they think I
have captured the essence of this island and interwoven it with the characters I have
created, blending the modern world with that of the mythical one and generating a new
and fresh approach to the stories of the ancients, there is no greater compliment to a
writer when someone who you don’t know comments “I loved your books.” What is also
particularly gratifying for me is when someone takes the time and trouble to write a
review. I think personally this is the best moment as it shows that all your efforts have
been recognised. My publisher Rockhill Publishing recognises this too and will include
any review of my work in their monthly newsletter another excellent way of getting your
name out there.

4. What can your readers expect next from you?

I have two kids’ books that are completed as yet unpublished and I would like to have
them illustrated. I also have another finished book which I am not sure what to do with
as it is nothing like the others I have written, this is a kind of specialist agency group
fighting evil. It is quite diverse from my previous books as it is set in the fictional town of
“Harrington.” and involves a whole plethora of characters and action which was fun to
write, what I like about this particular book is that it has the potential for lots of books,
with many varied adventures and stories, That’s about it for now,
